The pop star canceled all VIP meet-and-greet sessions for the remainder of his Purpose World Tour, a perk that can cost up to $2,000 each.

Bieber took to Instagram to reveal his decision to cancel the meet and greets, citing emotional exhaustion and depression.

However, Bkstg, a platform that allows fans to purchase limited-edition merchandise and VIP tickets, said in a statement that it was a security incident that caused the VIP package to be discontinued immediately.

More irksome to fans than missing out on a VIP experience they already bought, they can’t actually cancel their VIP purchase without foregoing the entire concert. Most of the show-only tickets are sold out at this point, leaving well-heeled Beliebers with few options.

“Please note that there are no partial refunds, so you would be also forfeiting your ticket in exchange for your money back,” Bkstg wrote on its website.

Fans of the pop star took to Twitter to comment on the cancellation.

Bkstg has modified one of the VIP experiences, which once included a group photo with Bieber, to allow fans to take photos and videos of the pop star while he is in the venue’s hospitality lounge.

“This is a new tour with new venues almost every night and still a changing process, but we have decided for the time being that this is our best course of action,” the company said, in a statement.

Bkstg declined to comment further, and Island Def Jam Music, Justin Bieber’s label, did not immediately respond to CNBC’s request for comment.
